Urban Driftwood is an ongoing series of assembled objects, free standing and wall mounted. By combining two or three gathered materials and/or objects, the context of each completed object is transformed from the utilitarian to the aesthetic. For each piece, the urban environment is resourcefully used as a creative stimulus, a source for materials, and as a guide that influences the construction. Ranging in size from 10ft x 7ft down to 80in x 58in, the basic elements are wood, stainless steel, metal, rubber and copper. |
